FKM Rubber for O-Rings

FKM (fluoroelastomer, known under trade names like Viton®) is a high-performance rubber known for its excellent resistance to chemicals and high temperatures. It’s ideal for o-rings used in aggressive environments involving oils, fuels, acids, and solvents, especially at elevated temperatures.

Key Properties

• Temperature range: -20 °C to +200 °C (up to 230 °C, short-term even 250 °C)
• Excellent resistance to:
  • Oils, greases, and fuels (gasoline, diesel, jet fuel)
  • Solvents (aliphatic, aromatic, halogenated)
  • Organic acids
  • High temperatures
  • Ozone, UV, and aging
• Limited resistance to:
• Steam and hot water (can cause degradation over time)
• Ammonia
• Very low temperatures (below -20 °C may cause embrittlement)
