Lens ring gaskets

Lens gaskets are primarily used in high-pressure piping flanges in the oil, gas, chemical, and petrochemical industries. They are designed for specific applications where absolute tightness and precise alignment are critical.

Common Applications of Lens Gaskets:

1. High-Pressure Systems:
Lens gaskets are ideal for systems with extremely high pressures (often above 1000 bar), where standard flat gaskets are no longer sufficient.

2. Metal-to-Metal Sealing
Made entirely of metal (typically stainless steel or exotic alloys), lens gaskets provide a metal-to-metal seal – without any soft filler materials. This makes them highly resistant to high temperatures, aggressive media, and mechanical stress.

3. Flange Connections with Lens-Shaped Groove
These gaskets are only used in specially designed flanges with matching lens grooves (lens ring joints), often found in:
- High-pressure hydrogen and gas pipelines
- Reactors and pressure vessels
- Steam systems
- Cryogenic applications

High Reliability The small contact surface creates extremely high surface pressure when the bolts are tightened, resulting in a very tight and reliable seal.
