Semi-metallic gaskets

Semi-metallic gaskets combine the strengths of both metal and non-metal materials to provide reliable sealing in demanding industrial applications. They consist of a metal core usually stainless steel or another corrosion-resistant alloy covered with a soft sealing layer such as graphite, PTFE, or elastomer.

The metal core provides mechanical strength and prevents deformation under high pressure and temperature fluctuations, while the soft sealing layer fills microscopic surface irregularities to ensure a tight seal. This combination allows semi-metallic gaskets to withstand high pressures, elevated temperatures, and aggressive chemicals.

High temperature resistance: Suitable for conditions beyond the limits of fully soft gaskets.

Applications
Semi-metallic gaskets are commonly used in flange connections of pipelines, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and pumps ideal where soft gaskets lack strength but full metal gaskets are unnecessary.
